It can be a fun and cost effective way to bring your family healthier food options.

Join Becky Johnson, chicken advocate and urban chicken-owner, as she discusses the pros and cons of raising your own backyard chickens. This class will cover issues including local chicken ordinances, choosing the right hens, proper care and basic requirements, as well as many other important topics. Handouts with be provided with information from the class and other useful resources. This class will prepare you to take the next step in your “Backyard Chicken” journey!

Becky has been raising chickens in Wyoming, Ohio for ten years and teaching “Chickens in Your Backyard” at Gorman Heritage Farm for eight years. We're delighted to welcome her back for 2020 to share her chicken wisdom once again!
