Enjoy the best of maple season during this family-friendly event at our Rowe Woods location featuring maple beer crafted by HighGrain Brewing Company using Cincinnati Nature Center’s own maple syrup. Discover the process of making maple syrup, learn how the beer was made, savor syrup from the evaporator, play team maple trivia, and more!

    Event highlights:

  • ·          Join an interactive sugarbush sap collecting hike. Hikes depart from the sugarhouse every half hour between 2:00 – 6:30 pm. Hikes conclude with a warm, fresh sample of maple syrup while you visit the steaming evaporator in the sugarhouse.
  • ·          Enjoy complimentary maple-related bites from area restaurants or purchase a full meal from food trucks (meat and vegetarian options)
  • ·          For those over 21, enjoy a taste of maple beer crafted by HighGrain Brewing. Additional beers from HighGrain will also be available for purchase.
  • ·          Watch ancient ingenuity at work as glowing hot rocks are used to cook down maple sap. Hear the sugar tales of early settlers in Abner Hollow Cabin
  • ·          Discover how everything from hummingbirds to butterflies to squirrels use maple sap.
  • ·          Tap into an interactive challenge. Consider the question “what is maple sugar worth?” as you plan a heist and assemble a dream team of co-conspirators. There are separate but parallel scenarios for adults as well as for families with younger children.
  • ·          Harvest new ideas for cooking with maple syrup during “maple syrup isn’t just for pancakes” talks.
  • ·          Hear how Matthew Utter, head brewer and co-founder of HighGrain Brewing, crafted the bourbon-barrel aged maple brown ale for Maple on Tap.
  • ·          Test your maple knowledge by playing maple trivia with questions flowing from history to botany to maple math to ecology. Suitable for adults and families alike.

Pricing: Member adult $20 and member child $10; Nonmember adult $27.50 and nonmember child $17.50.
