Join us on March 12, 2020 for the Sustainable Urban Landscapes Symposium! Tickets on sale now! $99

The program will start off with CZBG’s Scott Beuerlein giving a talk he’s pretty proud of. Dan Heims of Terra Nova fame called (a version of) it one of the best talks he’s ever heard, and Jerome from our Hort Team said it was like a TED talk. The talk will present a unique look at why and how good Horticulture benefits our well-being and our communities. No matter how good Scott is, he will then be immediately upstaged by Mark Fisher, the Zoo’s Vice President of Facilities, Planning, and Sustainability, or something like that. Whatever his title, he literally gives the best talks known to man, although Joe Boggs is pretty darn close. So why not have Joe Boggs from OSU’s Hamilton County Extension give a new and very cool talk? We’re also bringing in Peter MacDonagh, an Irish ex-pat living in Minnesota. He designs and studies green infrastructure projects the world over and will present success stories. Actually, “success stories” will be the loose theme for the day. Steve Foltz, Director of Horticulture at the Zoo will give a talk on success stories in plant introductions for sustainable purposes, which will also be excellent. One more slot TBA.

Speakers include:

  • Peter MacDonagh, Director of Science & Design, Kestrel Design Group
  • Joe Boggs, Hamilton County OSU Extension
  • Steve Foltz, Director of Horticulture, CZBG
  • Scott Beuerlein, Manager of Botanical Garden Outreach, CZBG
  • Mark Fisher, Vice President of Facilities and Sustainability, CZBG
