Guest Speaker

Come learn about the How and What of aggressive existing building energy reduction strategies. From the basics first steps of buttoning things up to bold strategies and technologies to reach and exceed the 50% energy reductions. Go Sustainable Energy's presentation will revolve around a case study of a building that achieved 50% reduction and could be in position to achieve zero energy status. The best practices and financial aspects of this case study are meant to inspire the existing building community into investment and action.

In light of today's COVID-19 world and massive nation-wide layoffs, we will also explore the compelling link between investment in energy efficiency and organizational fiscal health.

Go Sustainable Energy Presenters:

Greg Raffio, oversees business development and client relations for Go. His energy engineering experience enables him to more effectively work with our current and prospective clients to develop technically and economically feasible solutions to their needs.

Greg manages Go Sustainable's Strategic Energy Management projects, helping our clients navigate both the technical and non-technical ways of interacting with the complex world of energy and energy efficiency. As a project team member, Greg most regularly participates on commissioning, energy simulation, energy auditing, and portfolio-scale utility data analysis projects. He received his BS (2005) and MS (2007) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton.

Greg has authored or co-authored ten technical papers in the field of Zero Energy Buildings (ZEBs), energy efficiency, and multi-site analysis. Greg continuously educates himself about the ZEB industry. He is driven by his passion for the adoption and normalization of life-cycle cost-effective ZEBs to empower owners to control their interactions with a constantly volatile utility infrastructure.

Chris Wagner, is an engineer that conducts industrial and commercial energy audits, performs utility measurement & verification, and is a team member on commissioning projects. His experience in analyzing industrial systems and controls is an asset both on site and back at the office when performing complicated data analysis of achieved or potential energy savings.

Before joining our team, Chris spent a few years performing energy audits in the manufacturing sector, focusing on compressed air, ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, lighting, process heating, and process cooling for around 50 customers. During this time, he also completed “Compressed Air Challenge” Level 2 training. Chris graduated from University of Dayton in 2015 and 2017 with his BS and MS in mechanical engineering with a focus in Renewable and Clean Energy. As an undergrad, Chris’ passion for sustainability lead him to the position of UD’s Sustainability Club president, following the example of several other Go employees. His master’s thesis covered vehicular emission mitigation pathways for the city of Cochabamba, Bolivia where he worked for 4 months.
