The IBC is an essential tool used to provide public safety, health and welfare. Designing with new materials and complex client programs can push the boundaries of a straight-forward code summary. The fourth seminar will cover Chapter 9 (Fire Protection Systems) of the IBC.

2020 Academy Code Series

Become a Code Warrior through this seven-part, in-depth series on the International Building Code (IBC). Majed A. Dabdoub, P.E. provides a detailed overview of specific chapters of the IBC in each session. These small classes encourage participants to ask questions and engage in discussion around real-world examples of code application.

Dabdoub studied Civil Engineering at Ohio University before earning an M.S. in Structural Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He served as a building plans examiner for the City of Cincinnati from 1987 through 2014 when he left to start his own firm which offers code consulting, training, and structural engineering services.

Classes are the second Tuesday of each month, March through September (no class in July).

March, chapters 3,5,6; April, chapter 10; May, chapters 7,8; June, chapter 9; August, chapter 34; September, chapter 11; October, chapter 17.
