Join professionals from the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District (HCSWCD), Foundation for Ohio River Education (F.O.R.E)  & the Whitewater River Watershed to learn about pond maintenance and algae control. During this workshop we will cover basic pond ecology, fish stocking, types of algae and nutrient management. This workshop will be split up into two sessions. The first session will be a virtual classroom style learning session. The second session will consist of in person field and lab work. During the lab session of this course you will be able to look at water samples from your pond under the microscope. 

Session 1: August 8th 
Virtual Classroom Portion 

9 am - 12 pm

Session 2: August 22nd 
Lab and Field Work 

9 am - 10:30 am
or 
11 am - 12:30 pm
At the time of registration your will be asked to select your preferred time for the second session.

Registration Fee 

$10 registration fee covers workshop materials.
Each registrant is allowed one guest.

What to Bring During the Second Session 

  • Mask (You will be required to wear a mask during the lab and field portion of this workshop)

  • Clothes and shoes to go outside during field work
  • Water sample from pond
