Join us at Fountain Square on September 15th to celebrate the renovation of one of Cincinnati’s most treasured structures: The Ingalls Building.
Built in 1903, this 16-story building was the world’s FIRST reinforced concrete tower. The process of reinforcing steel bars within concrete was considered a daring engineering feat at the time. In fact, there was so much skepticism that a reporter allegedly stayed awake through the night in order to be the first to report on the building's demise. Of course, that never happened, and now it’s getting a new life as an upscale hotel.
With the help of HGC Construction, you’ll get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at The Ingalls Building on Fountain Square’s Fifth Third LED board. Sit back, relax with your Happy Hour drink of choice, and learn about the fascinating history of the Queen’s City’s first skyscraper. There will be food trucks & restaurants on the Square to order food from and the Square's bar will be open. Please help support our downtown businesses!
This is a family-friendly, socially distanced event. Please wear your mask (unless seated), and be sure to stay after to play Fountain Feud!
Happy Hour: 4-6pm
Broadcasted Ingalls Tour: 5pm
Fountain Feud begins: 6pm
Thank you to our partners at HGC Construction, Luminaut, and 3CDC for making this exciting event possible!
