The Village of Silverton is hosting a Solarize Silverton virtual meeting at 7 p.m. on January 4, 2021. At this meeting, property owners can learn about the benefits of installing solar panels and submit their property to the Village’s partner for a no-cost, no-obligation analysis of solar panels for their home or business.

Each interested property owner will be able to share their property details with the Village’s solar partner, PRO Lighting & Solar. The owner of this company, Matt Kolbinsky, is a union electrician who oversaw the installation of Silverton’s solar panels at Town Hall in 2020. At no cost to interested property owners, Matt will model solar panel costs and benefits for interested property owners following this meeting. Afterwards, if enough property owners are interested in pursuing solar panels, Matt will put together more firm cost estimates. By pooling the purchasing power of multiple residents, everyone will be able to save money through Solarize Silverton.

While the Village of Silverton is convening this partnership, property owners outside the Village are more than welcome to participate. The more who do, the better the price of solar panels and the greater the environmental benefits will be too.

Please stay tuned for details in the coming days about how to sign up for this virtual event in early January. The Village of Silverton believes our community can and must accelerate its environmental stewardship next year and reduce our community’s carbon footprint dramatically. We hope that Solarize Silverton can be something you will consider next year!
