Preparing for the Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Journey
featuring Robin Wright, StriveTogether
Thursday, January 28, 2021
10 AM - 12 PM
Join Green Umbrella as we dive deeper into our efforts to build an equitable and inclusive environmental movement in our region. Through this session, attendees explore the psychological journey toward anti-racism and how to account for it and move with greater compassion and intentionality in their work. We see this workshop as foundational in furthering the work we intend to do in the new year around diversity, equity and inclusion.
Robin A. Wright believes that by becoming the best possible version of ourselves and building meaningful connections across difference, we can create communities, institutions, and a society that upholds the full humanity and dignity of all individuals. This belief drives her life work as a trauma-informed racial equity and healing practitioner. As a practitioner, Robin combines what she has learned (formally and informally) while on her own healing journey with her educational and professional background as a racial justice activist. She received her BA in Pan-African Studies from Kent State University and her master of Public Administration from The Ohio State University. She has worked in several notable racial justice and advocacy organizations including the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race & Ethnicity, the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio (ACLU of Ohio), and Design Impact. Currently, she works as a Director of Race Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at StriveTogether.
