LCDR Jim Brendel, Supervisor, US Coast Guard Marine Detachment:

Jim will overview the US Coast Guard's role in boating safety on the Ohio River and lower reaches of tributaries.

Nidena Liesner, US Coast Guard Auxiliary DSO - AUXPAD Coordinator 8R:

Nidena will discuss safety considerations specific to the Ohio River and USCG Auxiliary's role in recreational boating safety.

Lisa Freeman, Natural Resource Specialist, US Army Corps of Engineers:

Lisa will discuss safety considerations when interacting with commercial vessels, as well as boating around and locking through Ohio River locks and dams.

Jerry Schulte, ORSANCO (retired), Ohio River Paddlefest Executive Committee and Ohio River Recreational Trail:

Jerry will highlight the Ohio River Recreation Trail’s recently published safety guidelines and procedures for safe recreation on the Ohio River.
