CPS Outside Spotlight: Sophie Revis, Groundwork Ohio River Valley
Sophie Revis, Climate Resiliency Director at Groundwork Ohio River Valley, is leading the effort to create climate safe neighborhoods in Cincinnati. Revis uses an environmental justice lens to empower communities and engage local youth in sustainability work throughout the city and is a leader of the ongoing, neighborhood-level resiliency work of Groundwork’s Climate Safe Neighborhoods (CSN) program. CSN, which informs the Green Cincinnati Plan, aims to offset environmental inequalities associated with neighborhoods lacking strong green infrastructure. Revis is also heavily involved in Groundwork’s Green Team youth workforce development program, where she teaches students valuable skills in preparation for work across sustainability fields. By educating students and communities about ways to address social injustices by becoming stewards of their environment, Revis is a true champion for CPS Outside.

GBBN Participates in 2030 District's Building Walk-Through Program
2030 Professional Partners and Cincinnati 2030 District Building Walk-Through Program providers Melink and Heapy recently conducted a walk-through of 2030 Member GBBN Architects’ downtown Cincinnati Office. GBBN’s walk-through was the fourth building to participate in the program since its launch last February. One of the coolest discoveries was seeing the contrast between the building’s historic and modern boilers. In the words of GBBN, “seeing both machines side by side is a nice reminder of our steady progress toward better efficiency.” The District looks forward to sharing the results of the walk-through to support GBBN’s 2030 reduction goals.
