Green Umbrella Showcases Progress in City Council Meeting

On Tuesday, Green Umbrella's Executive Director, Ryan Mooney-Bullock, presented to Cincinnati City Council’s Climate, Environment and Infrastructure Committee on the role Green Umbrella has played in implementing many of the 2018 Green Cincinnati Plan goals. From increasing local food sales, to lowering emissions

through the 2030 District, to tackling environmental education in Cincinnati Public Schools, the collaborations Green Umbrella facilitates have been making significant progress towards the city's short- and long-term sustainability goals. You can watch the full Council meeting and Ryan's presentation here. Stay tuned tomorrow for an exciting announcement from City Hall about the future of the Green Cincinnati Plan!

CPS Outside Spotlight: Sophie Revis, Groundwork Ohio River Valley

Sophie Revis, Climate Resiliency Director at Groundwork Ohio River Valley, is leading the effort to create climate safe neighborhoods in Cincinnati. Revis uses an environmental justice lens to empower communities and engage local youth in sustainability work throughout the city and is a leader of the ongoing, neighborhood-level resiliency work of Groundwork’s Climate Safe Neighborhoods (CSN) program. CSN, which informs the Green Cincinnati Plan, aims to offset environmental inequalities associated with neighborhoods lacking strong green infrastructure. Revis is also heavily involved in Groundwork’s Green Team youth workforce development program, where she teaches students valuable skills in preparation for work across sustainability fields. By educating students and communities about ways to address social injustices by becoming stewards of their environment, Revis is a true champion for CPS Outside.

Tri-State Trails Needs Your Feedback!

Tri-State Trails is updating their Low-Stress Bike Map and needs your feedback! Have you used the Low-Stress Bike Map before? If so, help the TST team with their new and improved 2022 edition by taking this survey by April 15th. The map helps beginner cyclists and active commuters select comfortable routes using
low-traffic roads around Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky's urban core. It is an invaluable tool that encourages everyday people to get outside

and ride or walk in their neighborhood, not just on the trails. Take a few minutes to complete the survey today and help keep active transit information up-to-date and informed.

GBBN Participates in 2030 District's Building Walk-Through Program

2030 Professional Partners and Cincinnati 2030 District Building Walk-Through Program providers Melink and Heapy recently conducted a walk-through of 2030 Member GBBN Architects’ downtown Cincinnati Office. GBBN’s walk-through was the fourth building to participate in the program since its launch last February. One of the coolest discoveries was seeing the contrast between the building’s historic and modern boilers. In the words of GBBN, “seeing both machines side by side is a nice reminder of our steady progress toward better efficiency.” The District looks forward to sharing the results of the walk-through to support GBBN’s 2030 reduction goals.
